Facial Fat Transfer Procedure
Facial fat transfer provides a great alternative to other cosmetic treatments to sculpt and add volume to the face. There are three steps to the facial fat transfer process. The first step involves removing excess fat from other areas of the patient's body. The surgeon uses liposuction techniques to collect undamaged fat cells, typically from the stomach, hips, thighs, and/or buttocks. The undamaged fat cells are then isolated from liquid and damaged fat cells. Only whole, undamaged, and cleansed fat cells can be used during the facial fat transfer process. Finally, the undamaged fat cells are injected into targeted areas on the face for a more appealing facial contour. The entire procedure is performed under general anesthesia.
