Meet James Knoetgen, M.D. — Plastic Surgeon
Dr. James Knoetgen is a skilled cosmetic surgeon who provides his patients at Beautologie Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center with the personal, individualized care and attention they deserve. He takes the time to get to know each of his patients so that he can better help them to achieve their cosmetic goals. Dr. Knoetgen's has achieved consistently exceptional surgical results, and he puts patients at ease with his warm, caring bedside manner. Education and Training
Dr. James Knoetgen completed his general surgery residency training at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital at Columbia University in New York City. After his training, he was chosen to complete plastic surgery residency training at the world-famous Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, which is consistently ranked among the top three medical institutions in the world.
Following his residency, Dr. Knoetgen was asked to stay at the Mayo Clinic as a staff plastic surgeon and professor of plastic surgery for seven years. During that time, he performed a wide variety of plastic surgery procedures, focusing mostly on aesthetic procedures for the breasts and body.
It was at the Mayo Clinic that Dr. Knoetgen met Dr. Darshan Shah, the founder of Beautologie Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center. He recently relocated to Bakersfield to once again work with Dr. Shah.
Because of his extensive training and experience, Dr. Knoetgen’s expertise in cosmetic surgery has been sought out by various national and international media publications and outlets, including Vogue. He has also published many articles and textbook chapters on cosmetic procedures and has presented his work at numerous plastic surgery meetings.
