What is Kybella™?
Kybella™ is the first FDA approved non-surgical treatment to permanently remove the submental fat beneath the chin. It can also be used for bra rolls, knee fat, and the abdomen. It is a prescription medication that is injected to improve the contour and reduce the appearance of submental fat below the chin, sometimes called a “double-chin”. The medication includes a naturally occurring molecule that eats fat. It is a safe and effective medical spa procedure that involves no surgery.
Am I a good candidate for Kybella™?
Not everyone is a good candidate for the treatment. Some patients will need to lose weight first, or may need a surgical option to achieve the optimal results. A complimentary consultation with a Beautologie Aesthetic Medicine provider will help determine if the patient is a candidate for the treatment.
What can I expect at my appointment?
If you are a candidate and after a complete exam, evaluation and consultation with one of Beautologie’s expert injectors, you will be provided a treatment plan and all of the information to make an informed decision. The actual procedure is very comfortable because you are provided a numbing medication before the treatment is started. Your injector will then prepare the treatment area and mark the locations of injections to target the fat.
How many injections will I need?
Your doctor or nurse will help determine that with you at your consultation appointment.
Is it permanent?
Kybella is a permanent solution but can require several treatments. It is important to keep your scheduled follow-up visits to monitor progress as well as evaluate the patient's needs for further Kybella injections.
